ActiveImaginary Worlds- Digital Photography Exhibit

SCAA Staff

Imaginary Worlds Exhibition will be on view until October 29, 2018 at the Mable House Arts Center.

Imaginary Worlds challenges artists to utilize digital technology, to alter their original photographic image, to create unique and impossible realities.

Picture a world of fantasy… an escape from real life, limited only by your imagination and your technical skills. It can be a world created from a single digitally manipulated photograph, or a composite of multiple images… if you can imagine it, you can create it.

See the pictures, the digital photography artwork and you will be inspired by the artists and their visions.

ActiveEngaging Artwork at The Gallery

SCAA Staff

Welcome to the Die Williams’ artwork exhibit now until December at The Gallery in Powder Springs.

Die began painting after retiring from a major airline. She considers herself to be a primitive folk artist. She is self taught and attended a few workshops working on her craft.

As a flight attendant and world traveler, she has seen art through the eyes of many. The art series that she offers reveal the journey of her soul.  She enjoys the snapshots of many cultures from her travels and childhood memories of country life.  She watched her grandfather work his farm in Arkansas. She also has fond memories of family members fishing from the banks of the Arkansas River. All this inspiration has led her to paint a variety of subjects.

Creating art is a spiritual process unique to each individual. Engaging the viewer into her world invokes emotions and enrich the lives of others through her vision. That is the goal of Die Ann Williams.

Reception at The Gallery in Powder Springs scheduled for November 19 from 5 to 7pm and open to the public.

ActiveA Garden of Artwork and More

SCAA Staff

Heidi Hunt’s Exhibit springs into summertime with a fresh look of artwork at the Vinings Library until the end of October.

Heidi has always been fascinated with depicting the beauty of natural light falling on objects, the brilliance of nature’s creation, and the color harmonies and contrasts possible to perceive, distill and express on paper or canvas.  She has a special love of portraying the juxtaposition of interior and exterior spaces at windows, and also painting en plein aire, seeking out with fellow artists beautiful local spots for subjects as well as from time to time returning to New England to portray the idyllic rural landscapes where she grew up.

A fresh look at art and the local artists who inspire us.  A last look at spring and summer delightful watercolors.
