ODYSSEY: A Photographic Experience from Nathan Dean

SCAA Staff

ODYSSEY– a photographic travelogue for your viewing now until July 30 at the Vinings Library.

A reception to meet and greet the SCAA Artist, Nathan Dean, will be open to the public on June 8 from 1:30 to 3:30pm.

A bit of history from the artist to describe the nature of the exhibit:  Odysseus traveled for ten years on his way home after the sack of Troy. Nathan has traveled with his camera for ten years and more, visiting many countries and finding many images, on his way to art.  This odyssey has been geographic, as the locations of the works (Spain, Cuba, New Zealand, China, Iceland, Russia, and more) to how he moves from being a realist, shooting landscapes and nature, to searching for human nature, realized now in street portraits.

Come join the odyssey of an award winning artist who, to paraphrase T. S. Eliot, reiterates “I shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all my exploration will be to arrive where I started and know the place for the first time.”
