Tuesday, DECEMBER 3 is Giving Tuesday, a nationally recognized day for citizens across the country to have an opportunity to give back to the communities in which they live. When Tuesday ends, you can still contribute to our all volunteer supported organization for its art focus all year round.
Donations to SCAA support our community resource funds and art projects in Cobb County and throughout the state. Everything SCAA does is the work of unpaid volunteers with the results coming back to our communities.
In 2023-24, SCAA’s projects included Bicycle Art Forms throughout the City of Powder Springs with art created by not only local artists, but by students at Tapp Middle and McEachern High Schools. The Art at the Avenue annual National Juried Exhibit was held at the Avenue West Cobb location with over 130 pieces of art from across the US, but a separate competition for Middle and High School art plus an Artisan Gift Market and area for children art, classes, book readings, and special performing arts guests. The 40th year of Holiday Artfest & Market and the Christmas House Tea Room continues. Additional public art exhibits included North Cobb Regional Library with 90 photographs from national wildlife photographers; to 78 pieces for the AFTA Black History exhibit; SCAA Member Exhibit; Emerging Middle-High School Art Exhibit. Of course, there are the classes and pop ups such as the Valentines Artisan Market. This year, the Art at the Springs Festival 5K was a special newcomer; however, the festival portion was cancelled because of a hurricane force storm in metro Atlanta.
Please consider supporting SCAA and our shared goals during this holiday season in any way you can whether with a donation or by becoming a member, volunteer, or sponsor.
