Applications open for the 34th juried Annual Christmas House Arts and Crafts Show to be held November 30-December 9, 2018. Juried show offers a preview sale and a 10-day public holiday shopping experience in a beautifully decorated setting. Application deadline: July 10, 2018. After artwork is juried, notification of acceptance (by e-mail or postal service) will contain exhibitor number, instructions on how to tag your items, delivery and pick up dates, directions to the event location. A maximum of 65 Exhibitors will be selected with limits in each category.
Essentially a “drop-off show,” each crafter is required to volunteer a minimum of eight (8) hours with shifts assigned on a first-come first-served basis. If no times are indicated, Exhibitor will be assigned a shift. A 5% commission will be taken on all Christmas House sales. Each Exhibitor is required to work (or have someone volunteer to work for them) a minimum of eight hours during the ten-day show or forfeit 20% of their sales.
REQUIREMENTS: HANDMADE WORK ONLY. NO buy/sell nor anything made from kits. Event designed to showcase original, handmade fine crafts. Items not deemed appropriate for the show including poor craftsmanship will be not be accepted nor used during the event. Handmade fine jewelry is acceptable in the following media: hand cut stones, woven beads, metal, wire wrapped, clay, paper, fabric, hand-painted wood. Handmade novelty jewelry will have a separate display area and must meet the handmade requirements. Any collegiate, pro sports or other logos will require a crafters license which specifically give official permission to use these copyrighted or trademark logo items. No demonstration nor personalization (monograms or names) of products such as on clothing or ornaments.
At check-in, items will be compared to photos, and tags will be checked. You will then be directed to a display area for unpacking your items. Please understand that items may not be displayed in only one area and some items may be kept as back stock to refill shelves each night. Exhibitors may bring more product as needed that may be added to displays or in back stock until space allows. Changing prices is rarely permitted but if approved, new tags are required. Marking through and writing new prices on tags is strictly prohibited. For small items such as pins, ornaments, etc., Exhibitor will be required to furnish baskets/containers with name and phone number must be attached to the bottom of each container. Volunteers will neaten the displays and re-stock each day.
HOW TO APPLY: Entry fee either as an SCAA member and as a non-member. (Note- if renewing or new member, registrations must be completed before Christmas House application.) Select category below to begin on-line registration. Entry fees will be returned to exhibitors not accepted into the Christmas House. No refunds for cancellations with exceptions for emergencies, which will be considered individually. Mark fee payment and click the registration box.
Photographs of representative samples of each type of work required with no more than three items in each photo. Include one photo of the Exhibitor working in the studio. Any items not listed on application and not shown in the photographs will not be accepted at delivery. Photos uploaded must be sized accordingly or the registration will not not upload; suggest photos 1.5 mb.
Apply in a maximum of 3 main categories with uploaded photos, pricing range and other details as needed. New Exhibitor: If application for new exhibitor, describe your process creating your artwork. All Exhibitors will need 3 or more clear and close up photos of your work, plus one photo of Exhibitor working in the studio. If application for Returning Exhibitor, updated clear and close up photos of entries and art work for this year should be uploaded.
