Call for Artists–  Art at The Avenue West Cobb,     2024 national juried invitational exhibit

The South Cobb Arts Alliance (SCAA) is pleased to announce a national juried invitation to artists for its 2024 Juried Exhibition – Art at the Avenue featuring all types of genre, medium, style, and technique in arts and to be held at a unique 10,500 sq ft exhibit space at The Avenue West Cobb, Marietta, Georgia and open to the public beginning July 13, 2024.

REGISTRATION OPEN UNTIL June 14, 2024 at the CaFE website.

Please note before you begin your registration that:

  • Artwork in this juried invitation must be delivered in person for this exhibit.  No shipments will be accepted.
  • Artwork must be for sale. Selling price will include 25% commission, so please price your work accordingly.
  • The nonrefundable entry fee is $45 for up to 4 images.

Entry requirements

  • For image submission requirements, please follow Café guidelines.
  • Art work must not have been included in the 2023 exhibit.
  • The Art at the Avenue Exhibit-All work must be original and owned by the artist with any references to be from the artist’s owned materials or with permission granted from the photographer. No artwork submitted shall be produced in a class.
  • Size and weight of work:  2-D art work must be no more than 60 inches on longest side and up to 60 lb. Free standing 3-D art work must fit through a retail front door – 40×70 inches.
  • If work needs installation, the artist must provide all necessary components and tools.
  • Artwork will remain in the gallery until the end of the exhibit unless it’s sold.
  • Your work must be wired and ready to hang –  Saw Tooth hangers, single D-rings, single-nail clips, adhesive or clip frames are NOT accepted.
  • Accepted artwork must be delivered on the delivery dates/location which will be included in the acceptance email.
  • SCAA reserves the right to use any image for publicity purposes. The copyright remains with the photographer.
  • No changes to submissions – title, price, etc. – will be accepted after submission is complete.
  • Invited work must be labeled with: Artist’s name, Title of artwork, Price, Telephone, eMail.

Open to all residents of the USA 18 and older.  Email Notifications will be sent on or about June 21, 2024 to indicate whether your work is invited into the exhibit or not. The notification will also include location and dates/times for delivery and pickup.

Awards: Awards include $500 First Prize, $300 Second Prize, $150 Third Prize. Awards will be given at the discretion of, and as designated by, the juror and the juror’s decision is final.  Exhibit Reception: Saturday July 20, 2024.

Juror and Judge – Will be announced with the acceptance notification.

Location: The Avenue West Cobb  (The Avenue West Cobb ::: Marietta ::: GA) is an open-air lifestyle shopping center in Marietta, located at 3625 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA 30064 and has an estimated annual foot traffic of 2.5-3 million. The venue is a large open space with smaller rooms to accommodate a gift shop and interactive community events. Located 15 miles northwest of Atlanta, the location features an open-air, pedestrian friendly setting with a unique mix of retailers and restaurants to encourage guests to stroll, relax and stay awhile. The Art at the Avenue 2024 will be in a 10,500 sq ft space.

Events: Events within the Juried Exhibit: Art makes our communities stronger.  SCAA is celebrating 52 years of art inspirations. Events in planning will include collaborative music and performing arts presentations  Additionally, a Student artwork juried competition for Middle and High Schools will be included in the Art at the Avenue 2024 with a Student Emerging Artists display.

Artisan Marker: A market will feature additional opportunities to purchase art from the juried artists as well as some local fine artists and crafters not included in the main juried exhibit. Application should indicate if the invited artist would like to participate in the Artisan Market opportunity.

Active Student Art Call -Middle and High School Competition Now Open

Art at the Avenue 2024 with a Student Emerging Artists Juried Art Call.  JUNE 30 DEADLINE

The South Cobb Arts Alliance (SCAA) is pleased to announce 2 STUDENT JURIED ART COMPETITIONS:  MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL as part of its event scheduling during the SCAA’s National Juried invitation, Art at the Avenue 2024.  ART CALL REGISTRATION IS  UNTIL JUNE  30.  (Registration details below include – select school level, contact information, upload one photo of art.)  Student art will be in a separate area as SCAA’s National Juried Exhibit will be in the main gallery.

Art for the 2024 Student Juried Exhibition will feature all types of genre, medium, style, and technique in arts,  The event will be held at The Avenue West Cobb, Marietta, Georgia and open to the public beginning July 13 through August 4, 2024. Exhibit Reception: Saturday July 20, 2024. Art awards will be presented at the reception.

Student Awards: Middle School Awards include $100 First Prize, $50 Second Prize, $25 Third Prize. High School Awards include $100 First Prize, $50 Second Prize, $25 Third Prize. Awards will be given at the discretion of, and as designated by, the juror and the juror’s decisions are final.

Registration CategoriesMiddle School Art and High School Art. Classifications defined as enrollment in school year 2023-24. If a senior beginning the school year 2022, the student artist would be eligible to participate in the High School competition. If a middle school student during the beginning of the 2022-23 school year enrollment, the student artist would be eligible to compete in the Middle School competition. (Category is not based on upcoming school year and status.)

Please note before you begin your registration that:

  • No entry fee for Middle and High School submissions of one (1) piece of artwork.
  • Read and review the agreement for work. Signature requirement at time of install.
  • One entry per student.
  • Complete entry for competition with registration details on-line.  Enter student category, click #1 and complete form.
  • Upload of the image required for submission as well as completing information in registration area below.
  • All Student artwork must be original and owned by the artist.

Jurors/Judges –

Mario D. Robinson is an Artist, Podcast Host, Digital Creator and part owner of 8RobinsonsTV. Mario is a visionary first and logical/analytical thinker second. While his foundation is in fine arts and graphic design, he has learned application development and now business management/administration. He desires to use his skills to help both individuals and organizations reach their full potential.

Angelo T. Robinson is an interdisciplinary artist who lives and works out of Senoia, GA. A self-taught artist, he joined the US Navy in 1992, where he served ten years active duty and four years in the Naval Reserves as a Seabee. Traveling to locales such as Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Africa, France, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Egypt, the Virgin Islands, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates greatly influenced Angelo’s approach to art. The vibrancy, diverse richness, and simple beauty of the cultures he experienced are shown throughout his work.

Jerald “Levar” Robinson is an Artist and middle school art teacher who believes in “Spreading Love Through Art”. He is an experimental artist who uses all mediums. He is also part owner of Supadopefresh and 8RobinsonsTV and podcast host for multiple podcasts. Levar is also Director of Exhibits and Artist Development for South Cobb Arts Alliance.

The Venue: The Avenue West Cobb is an open-air lifestyle shopping center in Marietta, located at 3625 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA 30064 featuring a unique mix of retailer and restaurants with an estimated annual foot traffic of 2.5-3 million. The venue is a large open space with smaller rooms to accommodate a gift shop and interactive community events. Art at the Avenue 2023 will be in a 10,499 sq ft space.

The National Juried Exhibit’s main art event includes a planned blending of events which is scheduled to include presentations by the Georgia Ballet (The Georgia Ballet | Home of Classical Ballet), and more.

SCAA MEMBERS Exhibit –

Artist Call EXTENDED to APRIL 2

SCAA has an exciting opportunity for MEMBERS to be part of the upcoming annual  SCAA Member Exhibit.  All SCAA members are invited to participate; however, memberships must be valid and active as of April 2.  New memberships and renewals should be completed before registering for this event using this  Membership information link with inquiries sent to SCAA volunteers.

SCAA needs additional volunteers to check in/check out art (3 volunteers each day of install/pick up day) as well as to assemble panels and initiating the placement of art (6 volunteers each day of install pickup day). Please contact SCAA to become a volunteer at this event.

On-Line Registration required for SCAA Member Art Exhibit is extended until April 2. Details posted below as to SCAA event on-line registration link with required parameters for submission and acceptance into exhibit.  All art shall be original and for sale.  Required photo/image of art, name of artist, title of artwork and price shall be submitted for ONE ARTWORK  with all art ready to hang with appropriate hardware as described, and 3d items to follow guidelines.

Artwork notification will be confirmed with delivery for installation on April 6 from 10am to 1pm at the North Cobb Regional Library (directional map below), as SCAA Volunteers will begin installing art that day.  Artwork will be picked at the same location on May 25 from 10am-1pm.

The Member Exhibit event, which will take place within the North Cobb Regional Library, will be open to the public April 8 to May 24.  A reception will be held on April 27 commencing with a brief Member Meeting and its SCAA Board election with the reception to follow until 4pm.

How to sign up for the SCAA Member Exhibit:  Apply for the call for entry of artwork no later than April 2. As space is limited to approximately 80 pieces total, SCAA Member Artists accepted into the exhibit will be sent a confirmation email with a reminder of the event details and a form to complete for the install.

As with all other SCAA Art Exhibits, the Exhibit will require specifications for the art exhibition and sales.  Please read the Artist Exhibit Agreement document as well as note the following additional details below.  Contact 864-571-0597 or scaaorg@gmail.com if you have any questions.

  • Member show requires valid and active SCAA membership.  All approved artists will be notified as to acceptance to exhibit and time/hours to deliver artwork.
  • Apply on-line or send an e-mail to scaaorg@gmail.com within the deadlines posted as available space is limited.
  • Original work.  Artwork exhibit does not have a theme.
  • No entry fee for current Members to enter the artwork.  As with other art exhibits, a 25% commission to SCAA will be for the sale of any or all Fine Arts Holiday exhibited pieces.
  • All artworks exhibited must be priced for sale.  NFS works will not be accepted.
  • Limit of one (1) artwork per member may be considered.
  • 2-D artwork must be no larger than 36” by 36”  and no more than 30 lbs in weight (including frame and glass/plexiglass) to be placed on the hanging systems on the venue walls and exhibit  panels.
  • 3-D  artwork exhibit pedestals cannot accept larger pieces, and artwork may need to be secured.  Keep in mind that this exhibit will be in an active public venue.  Inquiries should be made as to any items which require floor or pedestal space.
  • Artwork shall be properly framed (or gallery wrapped), weigh no more than 30 lbs. and must be wired for hanging. No saw tooth hangers, single nail clips, or clip frames or adhesive wires/clips.  Artwork normally framed under glass is acceptable and so is plexiglass.  SCAA volunteers will not be able to exhibit pieces not properly meeting these specifications.
  • SCAA reserves the right to disqualify any work not suitably presented, varies from the submitted image, or is not acceptable for public venue presentation.
  • SCAA reserves the right to use all art, artist information and images for publicizing the event and for other promotional purpose
